Via a Tweet by Marques Johnson the Kings Pulled T-Shirts That May Be Offensive to African-Americans. This PR move was headed by franchise player, DeMarcus Cousins, who thought the image:

Was too soon as the Lunar New Year coincides with the beginning of Black History Month.
Granted that this is coincidental and by all means non-offensive, it made me think: it took a franchise player of the organization, who was not playing that night, thought an image was offensive and should not be used for a promotion in light of his own views. But, lobbyists and activists have been trying for years to get this racist image:

Removed from the league.
Maybe a prominent figure in the organization can stand up to the offensiveness of this image? Only time will tell. But it’s just absurd that one man, can get an entire organization on board to remove an image he thought would get bad PR based on his perception of an offensive image (whether wrong or right when taking account social consciousness and cultural/social customs and traditions as in saying the Lunar New Year is not offensive at all, but the image is to some based on timing of BHM).
However, it’s taking years and many organizations and activist groups to stand up against a billion dollar corporation to remove an image deemed offensive and racists and has shown no signs of progress or awareness to the problems it causes and people it hurts.
Just waiting for that one. That one person to make a difference to do what’s right.
(PN: had a chance to go to a Washington, will never say the nickname, Philly game and chose not go give money to their organization in anyway. They’ll make their money but not off me until it changes.)
