First vs. Worst Results in Thriller

Anxiety had to be rushing throughout the Wells Fargo Center. Thousands of fans and bandwagoners piling into the arena to see the new version of an NBA Superstar and his #1 team taking on a revamped, refocused, rebuilding (love the alliteration) franchise and waiting for them to become dismantled as they have done to so many others.

Anxious to see if the Face of the NBA will even play in the 4th quarter, which he doesn’t need to do most of the time.

Anxious to see two teams on the verge of two spectrums of the annals of history.

Anxious to see how their underdog team will come to play against the juggernaut of the West/East NBA entity. A true David and Goliath battle.

The first quarter saw the Sixers stick with the champs. Exchanging blow and counter blow to see who will stumble. The second quarter saw the champs blow by showing their dominance. First it was a 2-8 point game, then before you know it, 25. That’s when the inevitable set in….or so everyone thought.

The sixers stayed in it with key shots by their makeshift lineup and misfit players. A 15-2 run capped off by a 4 point play by Isaiah Cannan followed by a strip to dunk by Ish Smith. Like the story of Rocky, the underdog from Philly was taking on the hotshot top performer in the game and meeting them head to toe. Just like Rocky, the underdog couldn’t pull through with this bein a dagger coming from Harrison Barnes for 3 with 2 secs left. This solidified the win for the Warriors.

The former Philadelphia team beat the current Philadelphia team to tie the Former-Current Philadelphia teams record for best start with the 66-67 76ers 43-4 record.

You can’t make this stuff up. It’s the true beauty of the game and phenomena of the world i how things just collide to go so well and make tales of lore to be revisited and made into history. It’s a classic for the season.A quick scare for a fan base/top team. A stepping stone for a struggling franchise. A beautiful day in basketball.
