The 1st Place Cleveland Cavaliers Fire David Blatt…WTH?!

Ok seriously, what the hell is going on? First there’s a blizzard in the northeast that is going into historic proportions, now THE 1ST PLACE CAVS fire their coach who took them to the finals last year?!!!!! What’s going on?!

This is truly absurd in every aspect of the word. Based on a Yahoo report by Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs have fired David Blatt and has been confirmed. Coming off a win last night against the Clippers makes this more baffling. And now stories coming from Cleveland makes it a little more interesting…..

Supposedly, LeBron has been undercutting Blatt left and right showing a lack of respect of the man at the helm. This makes it seem he’s been trying to put Cleveland on his back….literally, on the court and on the sideline. It’s his city and his show. For which he has now denied.

But then, there’s a report by Brian Windhorst of ESPN via bleacherreport that Tyronn Lue has been usurping David Blatt from the get go. By calling plays on the bench that are opposite what the Head Coach has called. Timeouts for the team that were not by the Head Coach FREQUENTLY. He has totally just took the team away from Blatt before he could gather respect. I say this because it is now known he has signed a multi year deal with the team.

I don’t know where to start. Mutiny could’ve been afoot, or management has just hit the panic button on this 1st PLACE TEAM with their decimating loss to CHAMPION Golden State Warriors on national television. Somethings up in Cleveland and we won’t know until it’s out in the open.

This league is full of loose lips, so let’s stay tuned to see who leaks something out. Until then, we can only assume what happened and observe this joke of a move play out towards seasons end.

David Blatt is a good coach to win at both high professional levels-one without a star and one with a star. His 123-83 record in more than one season will not be ignored. He will be back in this league ASAP and rub it in Cleveland’s Face. This is unjust and unwarranted. They could’ve pulled a Mark Jackson-Warriors and let him go AFTER THE SEASON if he wasn’t a good fit, but it is a business and it’s Cleveland.
