Vontaze Burfict has been suspended 3 games by the NFL for his hit on Antonio Brown. Said hit for which he is suspended, the NFL VP of Football Operations Merton Hanks states, “placed an opponent at unnecessary risk of injury and should have been avoided” (ESPN) Burfict is set to lose $502,941 and lost $647,395 since 2014 (ESPN) For more Stats and information please read Coley Harvey’s article on ESPN

Now here comes the question: Who’s shocked?! This man has had a target on his back the whole season, even dating back to the 2013 when hitting a player below the belt. WTH was he thinking? What does he think? Does he think?

His latest hit comes at a time when the whole nations eyes were on him. Not just the local markets, the national audience got a chance to see his team on a giant stage. And….he’s gone. Once his actions are on display for the whole nation to see, there will be an uproar and a public interest quarrel for the League. 

Not only are his actions egregious, but Pacman Jones’s comments on Antonio Brown “flopping” while he clearly got wrecked, just paints a dark picture for a dark time for professional football. 

The NFL wants to get rid of head trauma injuries for the “safety of the players” (or public interest which I think is most important, it is a business) as well as thuggery from the players to protect their image. Well, you still need to do better on the second one, because more and more often at the end of this season we have seen fists fly and extracurricular dipsh*ted activity. 

The refs need to control the game more and EJECT THESE PLAYERS NO MATTER WHAT THEIR NAMES ARE. I wish we had this blog during the Odel v Norman battle because, you would truly know my feelings on the Footlocker Employees. Here’s a snippet: 

You yapppy yesmen who protect the money part of your league do not hold a person accountable in full fear that you cannot tarnish a money maker for your brand, or paint it with a black eye is reprehensible  malicious, malevocent and appalling. YOU control the games more than money and public interest. And YOU are tarnishing this game as well as these idiotic players who have no home training or sense of common courtesy or interest. YOU and your boss are at fault. FIX IT.

This leads me to Burfict. Better late or never? Or too little too late? You all failed. Fix it.
